Almost none of it is listed on Sanrio's overseas storefronts, so a proxy or forwarding service is normally the route.

How to buy Hello Kitty goods from overseas

What it costs, roughly
Two things sit on top of the item price: the service fee and international shipping. As of September 3, 2026:
- Proxy service fee — ¥500 per order at Buyee, ¥300 per item at ZenMarket, or from 9.9% down to 1.2% with a $5 minimum at Japan Rabbit.
- Shipping by EMS — about ¥4,400 for 1 kg to Europe, Canada or Australia and ¥5,300 to the United States.
- Duties — the US $800 duty-free allowance is suspended, so US parcels are dutiable at any value. EU parcels under €150 carry a flat €3 duty from July 1, 2026. The UK threshold is £135.

Why can't I buy Japanese Hello Kitty items on Sanrio's own site?
Sanrio runs separate stores by region. The Japanese store (shop.sanrio.co.jp) delivers within Japan only, and Sanrio's Direct-from-Japan store currently serves a short list of countries that does not include the US, UK, EU, Canada or Australia — so most Japan-exclusive items need a proxy or forwarding service.
