About Kawaii Drops

Kawaii Drops is an independent English-language service covering Japan-only Sanrio and Chiikawa merchandise, online lotteries, collab cafes and arcade prizes. It is written and run by a native Japanese team based in Japan, reading the same Japanese-language sources local fans read. Everything on the site is free; a twice-weekly email digest is also free.

The gap we exist to close is simple. Japan-exclusive goods are announced in Japanese, sell out in days, and the announcements never say whether an overseas fan can actually buy the thing. We answer that second question on every item.

Where our information comes from

Six times a day we check official Japanese primary sources, not other people's round-ups:

• Sanrio's official Japanese news feed and its Direct-from-Japan store listings
• Chiikawa Market, the official Chiikawa goods store operated by Gray Parka Service Co., Ltd.
• Prize makers' own announcements — FuRyu, BANDAI SPIRITS and Bandai Namco Amusement — for crane-game prizes
• Corporate press releases from the Japanese companies running each collab

How we check it

• We read the original Japanese announcement and write the English ourselves, rather than machine-translating a headline.
• We label the realistic route for overseas buyers on every item — ships overseas, ships to a few countries only, buyable through a proxy, in-store in Japan, arcade prize, or in-person only — instead of implying everything is buyable.
• We test the purchase links themselves. That is how we know, for example, that the Chiikawa Market English pages fall back to Japanese without a locale cookie unless you keep a currency parameter on the URL, and it is why our links carry one.
• Fees, shipping rates and customs rules on our guides are checked against each company's own fee page and the relevant customs authority, and each guide carries the date it was last verified.
• When a deadline or a price is uncertain, we say so rather than guessing.

What we will not do

• We do not tell you how to get around purchase limits, one-per-customer rules or a shop's terms. Those rules exist so that fans, not resellers, get the goods.
• We do not copy official product photos. Images on the site are link previews served from the official page itself, credited and linked; rights holders can reach us for immediate removal.
• We do not give visa, tax or customs advice for your specific situation — we point at the official rule and its source.
• We do not accept payment for coverage. If a link ever becomes an affiliate link we will disclose it on the privacy page before it goes live.

Independence and corrections

We are not affiliated with Sanrio Co., Ltd., with Nagano or the Chiikawa rights holders, or with any proxy or forwarding service we mention. All product names and images belong to their respective owners.
